Public Safety Academy (PSA) and Rodriguez High ranked #1 and #4 respectively in the area
Fairfield, CA (August 21, 2025) - Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD) is proud to announce that two of its schools have been recognized in the 2025–2026 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings. Public Safety Academy and Rodriguez High School both earned high national and local region rankings, placing them among the top-performing schools in the nation.
“We are incredibly proud that two of our schools have earned recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools rankings,” said FSUSD Superintendent Jennifer Sachs. “This honor reflects the dedication of our students, the commitment of our educators, and the support of our families and community. I want to especially commend Principal Jason Fischer at Public Safety Academy and Principal Kristen Cherry at Rodriguez High School for their leadership and dedication to creating school environments where students can excel. At FSUSD, we are committed to academic excellence, equity, and opportunity—working collaboratively to implement our Board-adopted goals and guide students on a clear path to success in school and beyond.”
Public Safety Academy, led by Principal Jason Fischer, earned the #1 ranking in the area. “It is an honor for Public Safety Academy to be recognized as the top-ranked high school in the area,” Fischer said. “This achievement is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our students, educators, support staff, families, and community partners. At PSA, we strive to provide a rigorous, supportive, and service-oriented learning environment where students not only excel academically but also develop the character and leadership skills to thrive in college, career, and life. I have no doubt our students will continue to thrive as scholars, leaders, and community members.
Rodriguez High School, led by Principal Kristen Cherry, also earned a top ranking. “We are so proud of Rodriguez High School’s strong showing as #4 in the area,” Cherry said. “This is an opportunity to celebrate the commitment of our teachers, staff, and families who work every day to ensure that our students have the opportunities and support they need to succeed. Our students are Mustangs through and through, and I am certain they will ride into successful futures.”
The U.S. News Best High Schools rankings evaluate nearly 18,000 public high schools across the nation, using measures of student achievement, college readiness, and underserved student performance metrics. Schools ranked in the top 40% nationally – like PSA and Rodriguez High – achieved this remarkable recognition.
